At Star Puppy Academy LLC, water safety is a top priority. We teach your pup to recognize and locate the pool stairs, ensuring they can safely enter and exit the water. Our training sessions make water activities enjoyable by incorporating a variety of enrichment toys, turning learning into a fun and engaging experience for your furry friend.
Water sessions can be combined with the 10 session package.

Personalized Training Plan
Every dog and handler is different — we tailor the program to your specific needs and lifestyle.
The 5 Required Tests
To earn Emotional Support Animal certification through Star Puppy Academy LLC, your dog must successfully pass all 5 of the following official evaluations. Each test builds on the last — and not every dog will qualify for all of them. Our trainers will guide you through each stage honestly and thoroughly.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
The foundation test. S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility. This evaluation confirms your dog has received basic training and socialization during their early development.
AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
The CGC test evaluates that your dog is well-mannered in the community — accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, walking on a loose leash, and responding reliably to basic commands.
AKC Community Canine (CGCA)
An advanced CGC test conducted in a real-world community setting. Dogs must demonstrate excellent manners in public environments such as parks, pet-friendly stores, and busy sidewalks.
AKC Urban (CGCU)
Designed for dogs living and working in urban environments. This test evaluates your dog's ability to navigate city-specific challenges — traffic, crowds, elevators, escalators, and other urban distractions.
PAT — Public Access Test
The final evaluation. The Public Access Test confirms your dog is safe, under control, and appropriate for access in public spaces. Passing this test is required for full ESA certification and Public Access documentation.
Upon Successful Completion
Dogs who pass all 5 tests will receive an official completion kit containing all documentation required for Public Access. This kit includes your dog's certification paperwork, identification card, and the supporting documents needed to exercise your ESA's public access rights with confidence.
Not Every Dog Will Pass — And That's Okay
We believe in honesty above all else. Not every dog has the temperament or drive required to succeed as an Emotional Support Animal, and that is completely normal. Factors such as anxiety, reactivity, age, health, and prior experiences can all affect a dog's ability to meet the required standards. Our trainers will give you an honest assessment of your dog's potential early in the process. If your dog is not a good candidate, we will let you know — and we will never push a dog through a program they are not suited for. The safety and well-being of both you and your dog always come first.

Expectant Parents with a Pup?
Prepare Your Dog Before Baby Comes Home
Bringing a newborn home is one of life's biggest moments — and it can be a big adjustment for your dog too. We help expectant parents prepare their pup in advance so the transition is calm, safe, and positive for everyone in the family.
Starting training before the baby arrives gives your dog time to learn new boundaries, adjust to new sounds and smells, and build the calm, reliable behavior that makes life with a newborn so much easier.
Boundary Training
Teach your dog which spaces are off-limits and how to settle calmly in their own area.
Desensitization to Baby Sounds
Gradually introduce your pup to the sounds of a baby — crying, toys, and equipment — so nothing is startling on day one.
Leash & Impulse Control
Ensure your dog walks calmly and doesn't jump or pull when you're carrying or pushing a stroller.
Calm Greetings
Practice polite, gentle greetings so your dog knows how to behave around the newest family member.
Obedience Refresher
Reinforce sit, stay, down, and leave it — the commands that matter most when your hands are full.
Don't wait until baby is home. The best time to start is now.

Training While You Work
Busy schedule? Let us help with the training while you work!
Our Training While You Work program is designed for busy puppy owners who want professional, consistent training without having to fit another appointment into their already busy week.
Weekly In-Home Training
We come to your home once a week and work directly with your puppy on the skills they need.
Progress Videos
Videos will be taken during training so you can see what your puppy is learning, watch their progress, and understand how to practice the same skills at home.
Weekly Homework
Training works best when everyone is involved! You will receive simple homework after each session so you know exactly what to practice with your puppy during the week.
Basic Obedience & Manners
We can work on skills such as sit, down, stay, come when called, leash walking, waiting at doors, polite greetings, impulse control, and other everyday manners based on your puppy's individual needs.
Real-World Outings
Once your puppy has developed a good foundation of basic obedience and is ready for the next step, training outings can begin. These outings allow your puppy to practice their skills around real-life distractions in places such as parks, pet-friendly stores, and other appropriate public locations.
Well-Rounded Pup
The goal is a dog that is confident, calm, and well-behaved in any environment — at home and out in the world.
The Goal
The goal isn't just to have a puppy who listens during a training session. The goal is to help you build a puppy who understands how to make good choices and communicate with you in everyday life.
You Are Still Part of the Training
While we do the hands-on training during your puppy's weekly session, your participation is an important part of their success. Practicing the homework we provide helps your puppy understand that the same rules and communication apply when you're together.
We train while you work. You practice while you're together. Your puppy gets the consistency they need to succeed.
